  1. The Power of Besetting Sins (13:1-31)

         A) They gave the enemy a foothold: Don’t give Satan gets a foot in the door (13:4-9)

         2) The underestimated the power of greed: The necessity of financial vigilance (13:10-14)

         3) They worshiped productivity and leisure thereby the Lord’s Day casually (13:15-22)

         4) They did not take seriously domestic disharmony: The demise of the family (13:23-31)

    2. Lessons from those who have fallen back...

         1) Renewal does not mean the work is done.

         2) The pull of the world, the inclination of the flesh, and the trickery of Satan never ends in this life.

         3) Nothing matters more in life than being remembered by God (vv. 14, 22, 29, 31)’.

         4) The ending of Nehemiah reminds us of our constant need of a Savior.
